THE ALL-AMERICAN BOYS CHORUS has performed to standing ovations all over the world, including Moscow, Leningrad and Kiev in Russia; Bucharest, Sibiu and Iasi in Romania; Vienna and Salzburg in Austria; Venice, Florence, Assisi and Rome in Italy; Grachen and Zermatt in Switzerland; Friesing and Erlangen in Germany; and the eight largest cities in Japan.

The Chorus’s most recent overseas concert tour, extending for 30 days during summer 2005, saw them performing in Singapore, China, Korea and Japan. Factor in 33 previous concert tours to various provinces of Canada and the U.S., and it’s clear that members of The All-American Boys Chorus are true musical ambassadors.

Among the Chorus’s TV credits are commercials for Mazda, TWA and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The AABC has appeared with entertainers and artists such as Bob Hope, Tony Bennett, Paul Anka, Victor Borge, Della Reese, Melissa Manchester and Mary Hart. It also has shared the stage with noted statesmen, industrialists and celebrities. Among them are former presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George Bush; former chancellor Helmut Kohl of Germany; plus Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Henry Kissinger, Lee Iacocca and Walter Cronkite.

Founded in 1970, The All-American Boys Chorus has completed more than three decades of remarkable growth and significant achievements. The AABC entered the 21st century with a program acclaimed for its musical excellence. The Chorus has also been lauded for instilling and fostering leadership skills and characteristics in its current membership of 130 boys and nearly 1,000 alumni. Artistic collaborations with Opera Pacific, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the William Hall Master Chorale have given the Chorus a notable stature. Community outreach performances in schools have reached more than 25,000 children.

This nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization is headquartered on the Orange County fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif. The Chorus is open to boys of all races, faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds. The program is financed by concert fees, corporate sponsorships and support, private donations, fund-raisers and CD/tape sales. Members do not pay tuition.

Boys are admitted after completion of an eight-week audition process. They must then train for an additional six to 12 months and learn the basic concert repertoire of 40 songs before being accepted into the Concert Chorus. The Chorus conducts four weeknight rehearsals and one Saturday morning rehearsal per week. Each boy attends two rehearsals one week and three rehearsals the following week on an alternating basis. Choristers are taught music using an adaptation of the Solfeggio method.

Concert tours take place at various times throughout the year. The Touring Chorus is selected from Concert Chorus members and usually number 32-36 boys. Candidates for the Touring Chorus must attend at least one of the Chorus’s annual, weeklong, music-training camps, exhibit a high level of self-discipline and personal organization, and demonstrate a strong ability to interact positively with other Chorus members.

The Chorus has produced five full-length albums: the first is titled A Little Christmas Magic; the second, On the Sunny Side of the Street; the third, another holiday album named The Best Gift of All; the fourth, featuring audience favorites, called By Request!; and the latest, released in summer 2003, On Tour!
